Criminal and Juvenile Defense

Collectively, our office has almost 60 years of experience in handling criminal matters in state and federal courts and one of our attorneys, Ms. Tobaygo, is a former Sarasota County prosecutor. We understand the emotional, confidential, and sometimes potentially life changing aspects of being charged with a criminal offense and the need to have an experienced attorney available, sometimes at moments notice, throughout the process, and that attorney/client communication is a necessity. We strive to quickly and quietly resolve all the criminal cases entrusted to us, however we are fully equipped and experienced to take matters to trial where the circumstances dictate that to be in the client's best interest. While a Sarasota County prosecutor, Ms. Tobaygo was assigned to, and handled numerous cases involving juvenile offenses and worked closely within the juvenile justice system and with the Department of Juvenile Justice and numerous Juvenile Probation Officers. Our additional areas of criminal defense experience include:

  • Possession and/or distribution of controlled dangerous substances
  • Felony theft
  • Assault
  • Family violence
  • Harassment
  • Malicious destruction of property
  • Criminal mischief
  • Weapons charges
  • Burglary
  • Robbery
  • White collar crimes
  • Assault upon a police officer
  • Murder and attempted murder
  • Sexual Assault
  • Manslaughter
  • Unauthorized use
  • DUI and serious traffic offenses
  • Terroristic threat
  • All probation offenses or violations
  • Expungement and/or sealing of records

No matter how experienced your attorney is however, your failure to get advice immediately upon being charged with--or questioned about-a criminal offense may make an effective strategy or defense difficult and sometimes impossible. Criminal defenses and negotiations towards a satisfactory resolution are often won or lost in the early stages of the process, so we urge you to seek competent advice without delay.
